Perhaps not the computer, but the display One more common "black screen" failure mode is that the computer's display has stopped working, but the computer itself is still running properly. So it may be a misbehaving driver or application instead of an infection, however I don't have any information to help me find out what it might be. Right now I'm typing from my Laptop. Though there might be an issue with a loose ram card that impedes the laptop from successfully booting. This problem was found on others. Does anyone have any idea what is possibly going on? If so, you know your installed OS is fine. If your processor or computer has a NVIDIA graphics card, make sure you have the latest updates installed.
