It was working fine when I first installed it, but once I removed it in order to backup my laptop it would not work on the laptop and now it won't BUT THIS WAS SIMPLE, HONEST, AND TO THE POINT VERY PRACTICAL.
Rebooting the computer does nothing to fix the disk problem, since it is the disk controller that is confused. If the hard drive is plugged in, do a re-start of the computer, navigate to the above mention Device Manager and see. Give me the stupid award!!! In Disk Management it shows up a drive with Simple Layout, Basic Type, Status is Healthy (Primary Partition) with Capacity of 1.8TB.
