Conducted windows updates and downloaded all 68 but they "failed to install" so I have clicked to restart computer and it's now saying "installing updates". been there done that ....this worked for me. 1. once you have found the SSD can actually work and if you get to here add the HDD back in and make sure in the boot order its after the SSD But, AHCI gives you better performance due to support for NCQ (Native Command Queuing), allowing multiple SATA commands to be sent from the Operating System to to a disk drive controller

The Operating System seems to see itself somehow but it does not recognize itself on a valid partition.
